Cataract Treatment

Cataracts are the clouding of the normally clear lens of the eye. Southwestern Eye Center offers the solution called Crystalens, an IOL replacement for cataracts that allows seamless focusing up close, far away, and at all distance in-between, giving patients their best possible vision and in most cases eliminating their need for glasses and contacts for everyday tasks... a tremendous advantage over traditional IOLs.

Cornea Transplants

Corneal problems can make seeing difficult and may be painful. Disease, injury, infection, previous eye surgery, or other problems can damage the cornea. A corneal transplant is needed if medications or special contact lenses cannot successfully heal the cornea or relieve vision problems. Southwest Eye Center is ready to help, with Dr. Pfister leading specialist in corneal transplants standing by.

Cosmetic Eye Surgery

Even the most beautiful eyes cannot hide the aging effects of time. At Southwestern Eye Center, our plastic surgeon, Ali Ghafouri, M.D., FACS, specializes exclusively in surgery of the eye region. Sometimes cosmetic procedures such as eyelid surgery and brow lifts are necessary in order for you to see better with the added bonus of a more youthful and relaxed look. By performing minimally invasive eyelid or brow lift surgery, your youthful, bright and rested look can be restored.

Dry Eyes

Dry eyes are caused by a shortage of to your production by the tear glands in the eye lid. Southwestern Eye Center has Dr. Pfister and Dr. Campion who are dry eye specialists that offer a range of options to provide relief to painful dry eyes.

Eye Exams

Southwestern Eye Center offers both Crystalens® and ReZoom™ multi-focal implantable lenses that can help presbyopia or cataract patients reclaim their ability to see at far, intermediate and close ranges.

LASIK

LASIK surgery is often the option of choice for people who can’t wear contact lenses due to their job, recreational activities, or eye condition. Today CustomCornea® Wavefront on the LADARVision Laser provides more precise vision than ever before. The staff at Southwestern Eye Center is happy to give you a complete overview of the LASIK procedure, and help you determine is refreshed if surgery is the best option for you.

Visian ICL™

The Visian ICL is an implantable contact lens that works with the eye to correct vision. Unlike traditional contact lenses that go on the surface of the eye, Visian ICL is surgically inserted into the eye where it provides excellent quality of vision for a wide range of correction needs.

Retinal Detachment and Vitreous Surgery

Southwestern Eye Center has three retina specialists, Daniel Adelberg, M.D., Anthony de Beus, Ph.D., M.D., and Ingeborg Kirch, M.D. These specialists can help determine whether symptoms of the flashing lights or floating particles in the eye represent a dangerous condition known as retinal detachment.

In addition to providing Arizona with top level quality eye Health Care Southwestern Eye Center also offers Optical Shops with a wide variety of designer standard frames and sunglasses to choose from. Our opticians are qualified to help you select the perfect frames, lens options and correct single vision, bifocal, trifocal or progressive lens for your needs. We also offer optical repairs and at select locations an in store finishing lab.
